I haven't seen it yet, some people say its awesome others say the ending wasn't particulary good...

Most of the people I know hated it. Mostly because some things in it don't make sense. If you can ignore that, it's good fun. I enjoyed it.

The problem is that people expected a REAL war between humans and aliens. If you know the book, then you know what to expect.

I think it was a very good movie.

I think it's a pretty good film.
And have you ever noticed that the girl who plays Rachel(Dakota Fanning) is the same who plays Emily in the episode "New Neighbors" in season 2?

I didn't particularly like the movie and found it to be much too centered on Cruise and the family-drama. If you want a true sense of the terror and mystery, read the unabridged Wells novel - really a great book.
